Why Should You Consider a Heat Kit?
Electric heat strips or heat kits serve as a supplemental or secondary heating solution, installed within the air handler. Often likened to a "large blow dryer," these kits efficiently distribute heat directly into the ductwork. They are primarily utilized in emergency situations when the heat pump is temporarily non-operational or during periods of exceptionally low outdoor temperatures. Although they are not as energy-efficient as heat pumps, heat kits are an essential option for providing warmth when needed and are typically employed for limited durations.
